Frequently Asked Questions

Why do I need an Assessment?

A technology assessment is a comprehensive review of a company’s IT infrastructure to update or enhance its security protocols and performance. It can help identify areas for improvement and create better strategic decisions. Regular technology assessments ensure continued strategic alignment between business strategy and digital investments. When undertaken effectively, a technology assessment will:

  1. Improve business operations
  2. Enhance customer service
  3. Reduce time-to-market for new products and services
  4. Ensure your organization’s capabilities enable future growth and mission objectives

There are several reasons why a company might need a technology assessment. For example, when considering a major technology investment, when your business is experiencing significant, above-normal growth, or when market dynamics change due to disruptive use of digital strategies by competitors.

The assessment process typically involves three steps: analyzing the current technology state, identifying gaps and opportunities, and developing a roadmap for future technology investments.

Who can be an Assessor?

Becoming a medical expert requires extensive education and training. To qualify as a professional medical expert witness, you should have a current, valid and unrestricted license to practice medicine in your area of expertise. You should also be board-certified in a specific medical specialty and hold equivalent specialist expert witness qualifications.

In addition to the above, medical experts must be able to examine the material facts of the case, such as medical records and lay witness testimony. They should be able to prepare written statements, create models and other visual aids to explain their theories, prepare written reports, and of course, provide expert testimony before the court.

Medical experts must be able to state opinions with “reasonable medical certainty” in order to be afforded “expert” status. They must also aid the judge or jury in reaching a more valid conclusion about the facts of the case than they would have without the expert’s testimony.

Beyond the minimum legal requirements for qualifying as a medical expert in court, plaintiffs and defendants tend to look for experts who are:

  1. Distinguished in their field
  2. Effective communicators
  3. Experienced witnesses
  4. Published in professional journals and books.

How long does it take to receive an Assessment?

The time it takes to write an assessment depends on the type of assessment and its complexity. For example, writing an exam can take anywhere from a few hours to a few days, depending on the number of questions, the level of detail required, and the complexity of the subject matter.

On the other hand, writing a functional behavior assessment plan can take anywhere from 4 to 20 pages, depending on the complexity of the student, the behaviors, and the environment.

Unfortunately, I could not find any specific information on how long it takes to write a technology assessment. However, the assessment process typically involves three steps: analyzing the current technology state, identifying gaps and opportunities, and developing a roadmap for future technology investments. The time it takes to complete each step will depend on the size and complexity of the organization, as well as the scope of the assessment.
